A new design I've been working on for 2023 with Wayne Rich. Goal is to build a very balanced traditional longboard for riding in the pocket. Getting close to final design, next it build a custom fin to take the performance of this board to the next level. Filmed by Trent Stevens on Thanksgiving 2022.

You asked, here is more of BANJO on the NEO SPEED EGG Diamond Twin.

Our classic NEO ‘SPEED EGG’ now has a spicy sister model, the ‘SPEED EGG - DIAMOND TWIN’. And really a “sister” is the best way to describe these board’s fundamental differences – she’s a bit smaller, a bit naughtier and she loves Gaga. But like most siblings, the boards are very similar, with the only real differences being overall length, fin setup and the addition of a subtle diamond tail.

The original ‘Neo Speed Egg’ is an all-round design with a relaxed entry rocker for ease of paddle plus a slight lift and a snubbed off nose to reduce catching in critical parts of the wave. The clean “eggy” outline has an accented forward placed wide point for effortless paddle and trim. The OG speed egg bared a round, or round pin tail for fluidity, flow and control. The now diamond tail responds in much the same way, but the points of the diamond accent the rail line, giving it more drive, when then combined with the twin fin configuration allow for effortless release and masses of speed.

The bottom shape is the same subtle roll vee to double vee combination, which paired with the change in fin setup to twin, diamond tail + shortening of overall length, create an even livelier all-rounder that flows, glides and positions in a wide range of locations and conditions. Again, this board suits your transitioning surfer, through to your experienced short/ small board rider that wants a fast, flowing, dynamic mid-length.
