Free Jazz Vein is an experimental surf film shot on super 16mm film. In his latest work, Argentinian-born and US-based artist, Tin Ojeda, pursues his ongoing fascination with a vintage, 1970s filmmaking style inspired by period jazz album covers and movie posters. Shot in the USA, Central America, Australia, and Indonesia, the film celebrates surfing exploits while keeping an eye on the darker side of things.

Ten feet and one inch of foam, three wooden stringers and an ample serving of resin-tinted fiberglass make up Tyler Warren’s take on a classic noserider. Warren’s approach to log building is informed by masters like Terry Martin and Donald Takayama, with clean lines and lift-generating curves in all the right places. As a world-class longboarder himself, Warren has a pretty good idea of how a noserider is supposed to feel and perform, and if the trim-laden footage above is any indication, Warren’s right on the money with this blue-hued beauty. Kai Sallas riding the late Donald Takayama's personal 9'8"single fin longboard. The conditions at Diamond Head WERE perfect, until Kai paddled out and the East winds started to crank. Sooooo, be prepared for a round 2 of Kai and this classic Takayama log. Needless to say, the champ killed it this day on the board that he has ridden only once before. What's the real success to surfing? Dean Petty & co. attempt to solve this very question as they escape the North Atlantic chill and its cumbersome rubber, en-route to Northern Nicaragua to conduct some good old-fashioned empirical research into the success of surfing. Turns out it’s got nothing to do with what's under your feet, but rather a little brown bean that gets you out of bed in the morning: coffee. A Harrison Newman Jardine production presented by Billabong, Perfectly Caffeinated is a fun-filled adventure that will be sure to put a smile on your face. Like its geographical brethren, the southern cyclones and northern hurricanes, typhoons may deliver the yin or yang of nature: joy to some and devastation to others, depending on your location and desires. 'Beauty Pockets II'
The first ever trip the EPOKHE surf family found themselves on was a quick dash down Pacific HWY. It ended on the south coast of Australia. It became an annual gathering known as Beauty Pockets. Again we hit the same highway.
Spend 7 days hunting south swells, bars, landscapes, isolation, the unexpected…anything that makes you stop and pull the camera out. Back on the road Dion, Mitch & Creed surfing this strange but beautiful coastline.
The ocean was blue, the snow white. The air cold and victorian bitter so, so cold. We told a lot of stories. Don't remember any of them. Spent our money. Less office, more journey. The world is a fucked up place with pockets of beauty.

In these troubled times nothing is more scary than the crowd. American poet Charles Bukowski wrote a famous poem about it called "the genius of the crowd" .
Sebastien Zanella spent a day with Nixon pro surfer Chippa Wilson, to illustrate this poem, showing a dark soul standing against the elements, an allegory of the freedom to be versus the majority who want you to remain an average human whilst controlling your thoughts.

Episode 1 of Board Tales takes place in Byron Bay at the residence of Dave Rastovich. Dave candidly describes stories of pivotal boards in his life found through travel, friendship and the common bond of wave riding. Dave describes each board along with the approach, feel and mindset behind them. In the end, we learn that Dave has chosen to give away most of these boards so that others can experience the same happiness through these crafts that he has - a truly selfless act.

Deus Ex Machina is proud to present a short film by Andy Gough - "Black Rain" The black rain squall rolled overhead. Its downpour came in sideways sheets, turning the clean ocean surface to chatter. The drops falling heavy pushing deep below the water’s surface, joined by the welcome taste of rainwater. In a matter of minutes the squall had passed and the light offshore returned to groom the empty lineup. Waves peeling down the rocky coast, leaving nothing but turbulent water, only smoothed in time by the returning black rain. The trip itself was a short spontaneous one, this is one of if not my favourite waves to visit. It's just one of those places that I really enjoy spending self time at, reading, thinking, early mornings and early nights just simple living. I find the ocean there so unpredictable and mesmerising, one of those places you can sit and just about stare at the ocean all day and never really know what's going to happen next.

The Psycho Killer is a psychotic spin o from the ever popular Quiver Killer. Featuring all the design aspects that made the Quiver Killer one of the most popular surfboards in the world for the last few years, it’s easy to catch waves and create speed. It loves tubes, and at faces, and is fully capable of performing full rail carves and nimble maneuvers when asked. This sort of wide ranging function is what makes the “Killer” Series a favorite for surfers from our top team to everyday Janes and Joes.
• Revamped outline, featuring a refined nose curve and double bump Swallow Tail, for more “Pop” in small surf, while retaining hold in solid waves.
• New “Hidden Volume”, two stage deck line. Packs in the foam for paddling, drive and stability, but keeps the rails sensitive and agile for precise rail based surfing.
• Comes standard with deep double concave through the tail rocker, or can be really souped-up with R-4 Channels out the tail.
