The Electric Acid Surfboard Test
For the last three years Stab’s dragged some of the world’s most esteemed stylists and a few coffins of very unorthodox equipment, to various locations for the Electric Acid Surfboard Test. For our first dose, we took Dane Reynolds on his first surf trip since his twins were born, and spent a week putting ten left-field designs through their paces in the right hand sand points of Southern Mexico. After wrapping his head around the quiver, Dane chose Ryan Burch’s asym as the most eye-opening and progressive design of the first Acid Test batch. Last year, we took Stephanie Gilmore to East Africa, where she put on a most elegant performance on her tripped out tangerine-tinted quiver, before crowning Simon Jones and his iconic Channel Twin as the second Acid Test champ. This year, we tapped Noa Deane, the relentlessly progressive Gold Coast phenom, and a surfer infamous for refusing to ride anything but his beloved 6’1 Luke Short thrusters. Filmed on location on the North Shore of Oahu, we’ll be premiering this year’s electric Acid Surfboard test around the world over the next month, and the film will be online soon after. Australian Tour Dates are: Sydney - The Steyne, Manly - Thursday, 5th March Melbourne - Welcome to Thornbury, Northcote - Friday, 6th March Byron Bay - The Beach Hotel, Byron Bay - Saturday, 7th March
